Olga Kurylenko, Gemma Arterton: New Bond 22 Girls

The new James Bond movie has been cast and promises many more exciting romances with two new Bond Girls. Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko have made their way to the top of a 1,500-actress casting call to play the new Bond girls in the the movie with the working title of Bond 22.
The new Bond Girls will play opposite Daniel Craig, who was first cast as James Bond in the 2006 007 – Casino Royale.

Neither of the two new Bond Girls have had much experience in the movie business up until recently, but both Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko have had all of the right training. With filming of Bond 22 starting in January 2008, digging deeper into the lives of the new Bond Girls offers an interesting portal into the world of James Bond.

Who is Gemma Arterton?

Gemma Arterton comes from a working class family. Her father was a welder and her mother was a cleaner — I hope that this will add a bit of a down-to-earth feeling for her new Bond Girl character . Gemma attended grammar school when she was young and then got a full scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She is now 22 and well on her way to success in the acting business. Gemma Arterton’s movie experience includes three movies now in post- production 3 and out, Lost in Austin, and RocknRolla. RocknRolla was directed by the always awesome Guy Ritchie.

Who is Olga Kerylenko?

According to IMDB, in addition to the new Bond 22, Olga is now filming another movie titled Tyranny. Olga Kerylenko is also listed as a writer for Tyranny. She grew up in Moscow, Russia and began modeling at the age of 15. Her film debut was in 2005, which gives her a bit more experience than Arterton but not much. Olga is now 28 years old and resides in the Ukraine.

New Bond 22 Girls

According to the Associated Press, the two new Bond girls will be Camille, played by Olga Kurylenko, and Agent Fields, played by Gemma Arterton.

The studio has been quoted by the Associated Press as saying of the character Camille “[She] challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper’s betrayal.” Vesper, played by Eva Green, was the Bond Girl who stole 007’s heart and broke it in the last Bond movie, Casino Royale.

I don’t know about you, but all of this James Bond talk is getting me geared up and ready to go bust on some bad guys then get romantic. The new Bond movie, rumored to be titled Bond 22, is set to release Nov. 7, 2008.
